Over one in three ACT house fires start in the kitchen*. Many of these are preventable.
That’s why we’re working with the ACT Fire Brigade to help you keep your home safe with these top home fire safety tips:
- If a pot catches fire, put a lid on it and don’t try to carry it
- Keep a fire extinguisher or fire blanket in the kitchen and know how to use them
- Have a fire escape plan in place and practise it regularly.
